The Business, Economics and Law department in Parrs Wood Sixth Form were provided with a fantastic opportunity to attend a Careers in Investment Management Insight Conference in BNY Mellon, Manchester on Thursday 16th March. The opportunity to attend the conference was brought to us by The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, who are the leading professional body for securities & investment practitioners in the UK.
Students were given the opportunity to meet with practitioners, hear about careers and potential apprenticeship and graduate roles and make those key links with local member firms such as BNY Mellon, Brewin Dolphin, Castlefield Investment, Quilter Cheviot, Investec, Coutts & Co, Aberdeen Asset Management and many others.
“The CISI conference was a very eye opening experience which gave me a greater insight into the world of finance and associated careers.” – Will Simpkins Year 12
Our 6 fantastic students; Nicole Lai, Macy Tedstone, Will Simpkins, Joe Csoka, Ellie Hargreaves and Kitty Cooke, competed against students from independent schools across Manchester taking part in stock broker challenges and speed networking activities. They were very enthusiastic during the trip and interacted confidently with industry personnel.
