World Book Day Events 2021
We will be running a sponsored reading challenge (Readathon) for Years 7 and 8 with the charity Read for Good. Our school has over 25 years of history fundraising for this cause, supporting local children's hospitals with free books. We also receive 20% of our total back as book vouchers for the school. Readathon is a fun and accessible way to encourage reading for pleasure; no matter whether it's novels, comics, or magazines, all your reading counts. Full details will be presented in English lessons upon return to school, and Parrs Wood Library will be open for lending in a controlled fashion. This is a great chance to spark the imagination, improve reading and literacy skills, and give a gift to local children in the process.
To help us boost participation in Readathon, please endeavour to return any school library books you may have at home from before lockdown. Thank you in advance.
Best wishes and happy reading.
