GCSE results at Parrs Wood High School:
We are incredibly proud of the GCSE class of 2019 who have achieved great results, particularly given the national context of new examinations and more challenging thresholds.
Parrs Wood achieved 68% of students with 'standard' passes of 4+ in English and Maths; 46% at the new 'gold standard' of 5+ passes in English and Maths, and 14% of students with 7+ passes in English and Maths. We are also really proud that almost 25% of our entries were awarded with a A* / A grade. Equally we are very proud of all students who have achieved and exceeded their potential by working hard and believing in themselves. Students are so much more than just their grades and today we thank them, their parents and of course our wonderful staff who have worked so hard to support them.
Particular congratulations to: - 46 (15%) students who achieved 5 or more 9-7 (A*/A) grades - 37 (12%) students who achieved 6 or more 9-7 (A*/A) grades - 7 students who achieved straight 9-7 (A*/A) grades in all subjects - 13 students achieved 9-8 (A*) in English and Maths
A Level results at Parrs Wood Sixth Form College:
We are extremely proud of our students’ performance who received their A-Level and BTEC results today. Our results have significantly increased despite a national decline.
Almost 10% of all our grades are at A*.
5 students have secured a place at Oxbridge Universities, reading a variety of subjects including Engineering and Languages. As a percentage of the cohort this is a significant number and well above the national figure.
5 students from Parrs Wood are going off to study medicine.
We have seen an increase in the percentage of grades at A*-C, it increased by over 10% to over 75%.
17 students received straight A*/A s , which is 10% of the cohort.
The vast majority of our students secured their chosen University course, Apprenticeship or entered the world of work.
Well done to all of the students during this very stressful time; we wish them every future success. We would like to thank the students, staff and parents it was a real team effort.
Another year of great results at Parrs Wood High School
Parrs Wood High School have maintained our results from last year, despite the increased challenges. We have increased our pass rate for high achievers and maintained standard passes, including English and Maths.
All figures include English and Maths: - 4 students achieved 9 A* grades - 12 students achieved at least 7 A* grades - 18 students have achieved at least 6 A*/A grades and above
We are really proud of our Year 11s who have coped really well with a significantly more difficult series of exams.

Amidst top grades and pass rates decreasing Nationally, Parrs Wood Sixth Form are proud to have achieved another year of increased A* grades and our pass rate remaining at 96% for A levels. 100% of BTEC courses passed with 89% gaining Distinction or Distinction*. We are incredibly proud of all our Year 13s and wish them the very best of luck for the next steps of their journey.

Particular congratulations to: - 43% (15.3%) students who achieved 5 or more A*/A/9/8/7 grades - 35 (12.4%) students who achieved 6 or more A* /A/9/8/7 grades - 12 students who achieved straight A*/A/9/8/7 grades - 33 (4%) of our student entries who achieved the highest possible grade of 9 in English / Maths

Congratulations to the year 13 of 2017. Once again, the students achieved excellent results, despite the increased challenge of the new linear A2 examinations. Over 28% of all grades were A*/A. We are extremely proud of them.
It is a real credit to the students and a reward for their sustained effort and ability. The vast majority gained their first choice at University. In addition, some of our students re-sat units or re-applied for University; 3 students were successful in gaining places to study Medicine and 2 for Optometry. We at Parrs Wood would like to wish all of our students’ ever future success. We know they will be a make a significant difference.
